The development and approval of cardiovascular implants is complex, lengthy and expensive. In the EU project SIMCor, researchers under the leadership of the ICM are now developing computer simulations that should speed up the processes and lead to better products. The in silico modeling will save a number of animal experiments, and some will even be completely replaced.
