On June 17, 2023, the ICM's Artificial Organs and Measurement Methods team presented its research topics to a broad audience at the Long Night of Science. Here, current projects ranging from the development of blood pumps to 3D printing, blood pressure measurement methods to cell probes were presented using demonstrators.
The overarching theme of the presentations was:
From blood flow to artificial hearts - engineers in medicine
As engineers at the Charité, we use engineering methods to help solve medical problems on the topic of "flows in and around the body". From simulating blood flow to artificial hearts to researching the formation of resistance in antibiotics, there are many exciting topics to discover. With interactive setups and small experiments, we present our current projects.
Many thanks to the whole team for the great effort!
