Ulrich Kertzscher has received a new grant from IBB for the project "NanobleVAD - Investigation of titanium surfaces with immobilized noble metal nanoparticles with regard to thrombus attachment". The influence of noble metal nanoparticles (ENP) bound to titanium on thrombogenicity in VAD systems will be investigated. For this purpose, research will be carried out on the synthesis and immobilization of ENP on titanium surfaces, and these will then be investigated in suitable in vitro setups for their tendency to platelet attachment. It is carried out in collaboration with the company Berlin Catalysts.
